The Stuttgart metropolitan region offers approximately 380 degree programmes across numerous universities and higher education institutions. Responding to the desire for interdisciplinary collaboration and stronger connections between students from different faculties, the initiative Interfakultäre was established. It brings together individuals who seek to look beyond the boundaries of their own disciplines or who wish to enrich their projects through the expertise of others. The initiative also functions as an open platform for discussion and exchange, creating a network of students who actively shape collaborative forms of knowledge production.
Large carpets form an immersive spatial installation that simultaneously defines informal gathering spaces and provides seating. Through conversations over coffee and discussions sparked by the exhibited projects, curiosity is generated and initial connections are established across disciplinary boundaries. These spontaneous encounters are intended to develop into lasting collaborations through regular meetings, workshops, and collective events. In this way, the project understands architecture not as a finished object but as a catalyst for communication, participation, and the formation of an interdisciplinary academic community.
